Here at Valley View, we are blessed with a trememdous group of teachers, aids, and assorted volunteers! Even the most experienced chruch-goers tell me that their kids are learning and being loved powerfully throughout our ministry.
However, we rely deeply (probably too deeply) on a core group of teachers who regularly step in to fill additional needs. While this is a huge blessing for both our ministry and the teachers, we believe that every Christian is called to ministry. Paul made this dramatically clear in 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT) when he said, "A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church." In fact, each of us who truely and completely accpet Christ as our savior received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Think of that as the gift of Christ's spirit, or His nature residing within us. Now consider what that nature looks like. During His time on Earth, Christ spent virtually all of his waking hours (prayer excepted) doing one of the following: healing, feeding, encouraging, washing, and teaching. In fact, he is called "teacher" over 50 times in the new testament. That is the nature which resides in each and every believer, striving to mix into our own. Although a believer can serve anywhere in the church (and we need people everywhere) we humbly believe there are few places where a believer can draw closer to our Lord than in Children's Ministry. I hope each of you will prayerfully consider joining our vibrant team. Our current needs are listed to the left, but we always need more help, our amazing growth alone will continually insure that!
